Early Childhood Outcomes: New Accountability & Mandatory Reporting
Beginning September, 2007, Developmental Preschools in Washington are required to begin data collection in order to report to the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction certain information about preschool children to help inform about student needs and progress in Developmental Preschool Programs. The reporting data may come from a variety of sources including past evaluation or screening data, teachers, family members and others who know the child.
What children are included:
Entry data: New preschool students that have an IEP beginning services September, 2007 or after.
Exit Data: Students who have Entry Data, have participated in services for at least 6 months and are exiting the preschool program (through promotion to kindergarten, moving, exit from special education services, or withdrawal from preschool for any other reason).
If we are required to report on your child, you will be notified by Mrs. Richards, Preschool Teacher. You may contribute information by meeting or phone discussion with preschool staff, completing a written questionnaire, or completing the on-line survey below. If you are completing the on-line survey, please make sure you choose the ENTRY SURVEY if your child is new to preschool. Choose the EXIT SURVEY if your child has an IEP and has had at least 6 months of preschool services from the Eatonville Developmental Preschool and you have been notified that we are now collecting exit data. (The Exit Survey will be available beginning March, 2008). Click HERE for the link to the Puget Sound ESD Early Childhood Outcomes Project website for further information.
If you have any questions about this process, contact Mrs. Tanya Richards, Preschool Teacher, (360) 879-1811 or Mrs. Kelly Mainard, School Psychologist (360) 879-1800.
