The Eatonville Special Education Advisory Group will be holding it's next scheduled meeting at the Eatonville Elementary School (EES) Library, 209 Washington Avenue North Eatonville, WA 98328 at 6:00PM on Thursday, May 15th. The agenda will be sent to SEAG members at a later time.
April 24, 2008: Special Education Advisory Group (SEAG) meeting 4:00 pm Weyerhaeuser Elementary School. The public is welcome to observe.
April 10, 2008: Special Education Advisory Group (SEAG) meeting 6:00 pm. Eatonville Middle School Library. The public is welcome to observe.
March 6, 2008: Special Education Advisory Group (SEAG) meeting 4:00 - 5:30pm. Eatonville Elementary School Library. The public is welcome to observe. The SEAG is composed of parents and school district staff members. Members have been elected by their respective groups to participate.

November 19, 2007: Eatonville School District is forming a Special Education Parent Advisory Group. The school board asked the Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) to make an interim progress report at the December 12, 2007 regular meeting. To prepare for the presentation, the first SEPAG meeting is scheduled at 6:00 p.m., Friday, December 7, 2007 at Eatonville Elementary School. This meeting will identify the key work and time line of the SEPAG. All persons interested in contributing to this SEPAG are invited to attend. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Friday, December 14, 2007. For more information please call 360.879.1800.
Fall, 2007: The Eatonville Developmental Preschool will be participating in the mandatory Early Childhood Outcomes Project this year. This is a federally mandated report of early and acquired skills of preschool students with special needs that have IEP's. This requrement affects Eatonville School District, and most other school districts in Washington, beginning in September, 2007. If you are a parent of a preschooler in the Developmental Preschool who started preschool September, 2007 or after,, you will be asked to participate in this data collection process. July, 2007: OSPI adopts new WACs for special education effective July 30, 2007. The procedural safeguards have also been revised.

Court Opinion: Thurston County Superior Court has filed it's opinion regarding the adequate funding of Special Education. Click on the link for the full opinion.
OSPI Revising WACs: OSPI is repealing Title: 392-172 WAC, which contain the Rules for the Provision of Special Education Services to Special Education Students. The rules will be contained in a new Title: 392-172A. This new chapter incorporates changes required as a result of the reauthorization of the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004, (IDEA 2004) and the federal regulations implementing Part B of IDEA 2004. The state is required to adopt state rules in conformance with Part B of the IDEA 2004 in order to be eligible for federal funding.
